Invoicing as a developer
The repo is not the bill. Invoice milestones they accepted, put change requests on a new number, and send a PDF a non-technical AP desk can open.

Developers try to invoice from the issue tracker. AP does not have a GitHub seat. Send a real invoice: number, dates, lines a human can read, how to pay.
Fixed price
Write the milestone on the estimate (“Launch: marketing site, CMS, staging”). Convert to an invoice when they accept. Deposit, then balance — same deposit rule as everyone else. Do not reuse the EST number as the INV number. Why numbers are sequential.
Hourly
Lines with a period and a rate: “Sprint 12, 18 hours × $…”. A single “backend” lump with no dates is how they ask for a CSV of commits.
Change requests
New invoice, new number. Editing a paid invoice is how GST and AP records split. If they have not accepted the change, it is still an estimate.
How to send it
Share link or PDF to the person who pays, not a comment on the PR. How to send an invoice. Hosting, domains, and app-store fees are separate lines if you pass them through — not a surprise in notes.
